Product Description
Our King Platform Storage Beds combine extra large drawers for plenty of storage space with a slat support system that requires only a mattress. Wood slats are positioned lengthwise to distribute body weight evenly, minimize the amount of motion transfer and take the place of a box-spring. Metal braces under the slats provide additional stability. Underneath are 6 large storage drawers (20in. depth) that run on smooth running metal drawer glides. Drawers open easily with finger pulls located at the bottom of drawer fronts and knobs have been eliminated to prevent bedclothes from catching. They are large enough to hold anything you need to store: linens, blankets, clothes, socks and even shoes are just a few ideas. Coordinate with the King Headboard and other Prepac bedroom furniture pieces. Overall bed height is 21 in. if used with an 8 in. thick mattress. This product is made from composite woods with plywood slats. It ships flat-packed (in three cartons) and self-assembly is required. Detailed and easy-to-follow instructions are included. 5 year manufacturer limited warranty.

 Missing Hardware = Nightmare!!! August 6, 2010

I order the King-Size Platform Bed. The bed arrived well packaged and well protected. All the wood was aptly surrounded by thick plastic wrapped styrofoam to protect the edges and corners from damage. The bed itself is pretty nice to look at. The wood for the drawers is very light weight, and very delicate so for me it was a little disappointing. I had hoped the wood would be a little more durable than this, but that's ok. They'll probably end up holding socks or something, lol. The worst nightmare was that this bed arrived missing an absurd amount of screws and hardware. I was barely able to put the bed itself together; however, at this time I could not put together ANY of the drawers, nor could I mount the hardware that holds the drawers in place. So basically I have a hallow bed with NO drawers in it. The particular screws and hardware that I needed could not be found at any hardware store here in town. I called the manufacturer in hopes I could get replacement screws and hardware. As of this writing I have not heard back from the manufacturer. The 1-800 number given on the instruction booklet for parts is always an answering machine so I leave a message. I'll re-comment this review "if/when" I hear back from the manufacturer.
Perhaps this was a fluke. Missing hardware aside, the bed was relatively simple to put together. I did it by myself with very little difficulty. The bed is nice looking and I propped a three-layer memory foam mattress on top of it. It's very comfortable so far. If not for the hardware mishap I would have rated this bed a 5-Star item. So beware that this bed comes in 3 boxes and count ALL your parts, screws, and hardware BEFORE you begin putting it together ;)

Before I purchased this item, I chatted through the 24/7 customer chatt service with visiondecor.
Even though I asked some random and foolish questions, they answered me very kindly and detailed.
When I received the product, the bed was bigger than what I expected (which is my fault cause I should have check the size before I purchase the product), so I talked again with them through the online, and they kindly offered me to exchange the product without any extra charges....this is actually the best service I ever had in my 3-4 year Amazon.com experience,and now I even feel proud of myself that I have decide to buy products from them.
The vision Decor covered the whole shipping payment for free, eventhough it was not on the contact list.
Now I am just sitting on the chair to wait UPS pick up my old bed and bring a new one. If you are planning to get any home furnitures, you should go to [...] and check. Seriously.

On paper, this is a great idea and product. It was a nightmare to get together and the quality of the drawers and their functionality are disappointing. Would be a great college bed, first apartment bed...

Bought this as a Christmas/birthday for my son and his wife (headboard too). It came in record time. Hadn't expected to see it until after Christmas but much to my surprise it arrived two days prior. They are very happy with it and love the storage space.

For those of you looking for fine hard-wood furniture, this is not it. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this product and it was fairly simple to put together. The price and functionality are the best selling points, and I've been pleased with the increase in storage in our bedroom. We live in a small bungalow-style home with small bedrooms. Try putting a king-sized bed in a small room and you quickly run out of room for a dresser. Now my clothes are easily accessed and our closet doesn't feel so cramped. The clean lines of this bed are great as they don't compete with the look of the bedspread and drapery headboard treatment that are the focus of our room. The espresso finish is also nice. I do find that we frequently stub our toes on the corner of the bed, but this probably has more to do with our small bedroom than the bed itself.
